Class Description

In this workshop you will learn the basics of how websites work, and the introductory level of building your own website using WordPress.

We will be starting the class with a brief introduction, and a short informational talk about the web, and WordPress. We will jump right into helping you set up your own WordPress website on your hosting plan and activating that site on your domain name. We will then assist you in installing Divi theme (a premium, responsive WordPress theme) with lifetime updates (a $249 value, at no charge), and add recommended plugins to your website.

Your questions will be answered about website building, you will be trained on how to add content to your website, and by the end of this workshop you will have a live, responsive website that can be added to and transformed in any way you wish. You will need to bring your own laptop for this workshop. If you do not have a laptop, please contact us to see if we can have an extra on hand for you.

If you don’t have hosting and a domain name already, please come at 2:00pm – these items are preliminary and will be discussed but not be purchased during the class. Therefore, to get assistance purchasing these, please come 30 minutes early.

Additional website expenses: To have a website, you will need a domain name ($9-15/year), and website hosting. If you don’t already have these items, COME 30 MINUTES EARLY AT 2:00PM and we will assist you in purchasing them.
