In the next few weeks, Hooked On Code will welcome two new team members and I thought I’d let you in on one of the ways we like to welcome employees.

Some background first; we like to refer to ourselves as “unicorns,” which is an industry term used to describe awesome people who are amazing at completing many tasks, while wearing all sorts of (fashionable) hats. As luck would have it, I found awesome cards about being a unicorn AND they are hot pink, just like the Hooked On Code branding! Score!

Then, I like to fill the cards with goodies. (Who doesn’t love goodies?) At HOC, we are gear-obsessed — laptop stickers​ and magnets from Sticker Mule are definitely our favorite go-to’s. We are as obsessed with Sticker Mule as we are with our own branding!

After writing a very thoughtful, personalized welcome note and throwing in HOC swag, it’s time for the piece de resistance: eco-friendly confetti. YAY! What better way to say, “We can’t wait to work with you,” than driving someone nuts and testing their patience?! (Secret insider tip: sometimes I also like to send a box of my favorite herbal tea – Mint Refresh from Pukka brand.)
